Happy Holidays 2019

We extend a heartfelt thanks to our community as well as our friends around the country and world who have contributed to the National Capital Lyme Disease Association over the last year either with a financial donation, by volunteering, or by otherwise supporting our many activities and projects.
Our efforts are focused on helping people with tick-borne diseases through life-saving education, support, advocacy, legislation and innovative research.
We are particularly proud this past year of self-publishing a tick-borne disease educational series for children, given they are the most vulnerable since they play outdoors. We hope that parents who read this series with their children will also learn prevention techniques to protect themselves and their families. The Tick Busters series is being distributed free of charge to the public, schools, camps, libraries and physicians’ offices across the country. Your donations made this possible. Moreover, this is a good example of what differentiates NatCapLyme from other Lyme advocacy groups in that our focus is on working within the trenches of this disease to comprehensively support the patient with tick-borne illnesses. The latest number from the CDC indicates that more than 427,000 new cases of Lyme disease are reported annually, up 42% from 300,000 in 2013. As this epidemic continues to grow, our motto remains the same: “It is all about the patient!”
In this season of giving, please continue to help us build on the advances made in 2019.
