Samuel M. Shor, M.D. Presents to NatCapLyme

April 2, 2017, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital

Washington, DC United States

Dr. Samuel M. Shor, M.D. chair of the Loudoun County Lyme Commission; president of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS); and Associate Clinical Professor at The George Washington University, will present:

Update on the Nanotrap nanotechnology and Lyme Disease.”

Dr. Shor is an accomplished and accredited speaker on Lyme and tick-borne diseases. He is a published authority and was a sitting member on the 2010 Virginia Governor’s Task Force to study Lyme and other tick-borne illnesses.  Additional information on Dr. Shor can be found at his website at www.INTMEDNOVA.com.

Dr. Shor will present an update on the clinical research he is conducting with Ceres Nanosciences, a Northern Virginia based biotechnology company.  He will also describe his upcoming research study focused on a new release of the urine-based Nanotrap Lyme Antigen test for use when a patient presents with a tick attachment, tick bite, or an erythema migrans (EM) rash.  He is actively recruiting suitable patients to participate in this new study.

This Nanotrap technology developed by Ceres Nanosciences and George Mason University could revolutionize diagnostics for Lyme disease. The new Lyme Antigen test promises to provide the most sensitive detection for Lyme at its earliest stages. The Nanotrap technology also has the capability to screen for other tick-borne diseases, such as Babesia and Bartonella, and for other infectious diseases, such as Zika, Ebola, malaria, and tuberculosis. A future goal is to provide a more convenient, rapid, and confident diagnosis at the point-of-care in a doctor’s office. Imagine a day when medical professionals can provide a definitive diagnosis of acute-stage Lyme in the course of a patient’s visit based on a simple, non-invasive, inexpensive, and FDA-approved urine test!

NatCapLyme hopes you attend this important lecture by Dr. Samuel M. Shor in our Esteemed Speaker Series.  A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
