Former Governor Northam Endorses “Tick Busters, Wanted Dead or Alive”
February 4, 2022
A special “Thank You” from the National Capital Lyme Disease Association to former Governor Ralph Northam for his recent endorsement of our children’s educational booklet Tick Busters, Wanted Dead or Alive.
“As a pediatric physician and Governor of Virginia, I have become acutely aware of the danger posed by ticks and the diseases they can carry. Lyme disease has become the number one vector-borne disease in the United States, and it is essential to educate children and families on its prevention. Therefore, I am pleased to recommend Tick Busters: Wanted Dead or Alive. It’s an entertaining children’s booklet that does an excellent job of educating and focusing on the awareness and prevention of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. “
Tick Busters is a fun filled children’s fantasy/mystery story that tells the tale of a menacing tick, Tickula, who is on the loose and causing havoc. Through the story, the reader learns about ticks, their habitat, their life cycle, the diseases they carry, how to properly remove them, and what to do after removal.
