NatCapLyme Salutes Scout for Lyme Disease Education Awareness Project
June 1, 2022
Service to others is an important part of the Scout Oath: ” . . . to help other people at all times.” Each year tens of thousands of scouts strive to achieve the coveted Eagle Scout rank by applying character, citizenship, and scouting values in their daily lives. One of the rank requirements is to plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, school or community.
Dominic, along with his troop, family, friends provided an information booth with awareness, games and activities at the annual 2022 McLean Day event, for his Eagle Scout project. “This is the best way I can think to educate my family, friends and community about the devastation ticks can cause” Dominic said.
In attendance from the Jemsek Clinic was Candace Willett, certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, who informed attendees about how to protect themselves and their families from ticks and the diseases they carry.
NatCapLyme salutes Dominic for a job well done!
